Celebrated Pianist Denk to Perform at Samford Feb. 2-3

Celebrated pianist Jeremy Denk will perform at Samford University Feb. 2-3 through the university's Davis Architects Guest Artist Series and Morris Piano Festival and Competition. Denk will will perform in Brock Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 2. Tickets for the performance are $20 (adult,) $15 (55+) and $10 (student/child) at arts.samford.edu or (205) 726-2853. He also will present a piano master class Feb. 3 at 2:30 p.m. in Brock Recital Hall (open to the public and free-of-charge).

Denk has appeared as soloist with many major orchestras in some of the nation's most prestigious venues and has collaborated with many of the world's finest string quartets. The New York Times describes Denk's playing as "bracing, effortlessly virtuosic, and utterly joyous," and reviewers frequently comment on the freshness and originality of his musical interpretations.
