Samford Places 25 On SoCon Fall Academic All-Conference Team
Samford placed 25 student-athletes on the 2008 Southern Conference Fall Academic All-Conference team, released by the league on Jan. 15.
A total of 291 student-athletes, representing all 12 Southern Conference institutions, were named to the team. The 291 student-athletes, which participated in football, men's and women's cross country, volleyball and men's and women's soccer, averaged a 3.55 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
For Samford, women's soccer had the most representatives on the team with 10. Men's cross country, volleyball and women's cross country had four members each named to the team, and football placed three players on the squad.
