Nomination Process

Timeline

The Beeson Exceptional Scholars Program centers on a nomination process by either the high school principal or guidance counselor. Each Alabama accredited high school has one nomination per 200 graduating students or fraction thereof, based upon the size of the current senior class. Information will be sent to each school in November. Nominations should be returned to the Office of Admission by November 15 of the student's senior year. It is an honor for a student to be her/his school's nominee. Competitive nominees are reviewed by a regional scholarship committee, and regional finalists will interview in Birmingham in the spring. Recipients will have the entire costs of tuition, room, board and books paid by the scholarship.
