DANCE NEWS

The School of the Arts has developed a program for dancers who want more than just class every week.  This group, called Dansynthesis, meets weekly to learn repertory and new choreography for presentation in the annual spring concert and other venues such as the Alabama Dance Festival and Panoply of the Arts. This exciting new project began in the fall of 2009.

Dansynthesis 2009-2010

Auditions are Monday, September 14 at 5:30 in the dance studio in Seibert gym.  Come dressed in dance attire, with ballet shoes and jazz shoes/sneakers. Contact Lisa Gibbs at legibbs@samford.edu for more information.

Below are pictures from Momentum 2009. This performance was a culmination of DANC 401 - Choreography. Thirteen dances of styles ranging from ballet to hip-hop were performed by a cast of 21 dancers.  Auditions for the annual dance concert are held every fall and are open to the entire campus.
