    • Samford is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music, the
      National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education, the Southern Association
      of Colleges and Schools, and the State of Alabama Board of Education.
    • School of the Arts faculty have been recognized as recipients of university-wide
      teaching awards, such as the John H. Buchanan Award for Excellence in Classroom
      Teaching and the George Macon Memorial Award. Arts professors are continuing
      to put Samford on the map by presenting papers and compositions at regional
      conferences, being invited to serve as guest composers and adjudicators in high school competitions, and displaying artworks in galleries throughout the nation.

    School of the Arts students are not only fine artists, but they are also leaders and scholars. Samford rewards these multifaceted students by allowing them to combine merit-based/academic scholarships, Arts major scholarships, and other forms of financial aid; because of this, some School of the Arts students are attending Samford with awards funding nearly all of their tuition.
